The new edition of the ROLI Seaboard will soon also be available in the compact Block M version. The smaller edition of the MPE controller is scheduled to appear in March 2024.

A few days ago ROLI teased nothing less than what was once their most popular product. Now the secret of ROLI’s old “seller” has been revealed. The Seaboard Block M returns and will of course be expanded with the latest features of the new series.

ROLI's Seaboard was an absolute novelty a few years ago and, alongside a few other representatives, brought the multidimensional game called MPE to the public. The keyboard is like a normal keyboard, but the keys are completely black and have a rubber surface. Although the Seaboard was able to produce really impressive sounds, the playability was not popular with everyone and ROLI filed for bankruptcy in 2021. Recently, however, there was the return of the large Seaboard and now also the small Block M.

Basically, you can't really tell that the Seaboard Block M is new. The look remains the same, but according to the manufacturer, the 24 keywaves have been revised and now offer significantly better playing comfort. The velocity is now much more intuitive and the velocity curve can be adjusted individually.

Like its predecessor, the ROLI Seaboard Block M can be connected to other blocks using the DNA connector. However, other controllers such as the LUMI Keys can also be docked there. The Seaboard is played via Bluetooth with a range of 15 meters. The MPE controller can also be played and the battery charged via USB-C. The MIDI out socket is completely new, meaning the Seaboard can now also be used as an external controller for other hardware devices.

The ROLI Seaboard Block M can now be pre-ordered for 349.95 euros. Delivery is scheduled for March 2024. You can find further information
